Achieving a greenhouse gas-neutral energy supply is one of the greatest challenges of the 21st century. At the Institute of Energy and Climate Research – Techno-Economic Systems Analysis (IEK-3) – we use integrated models to explore how possible cost-effective transformation strategies must be designed to achieve this. Become part of our international research team and contribute your ideas and creativity on how a future global greenhouse gas neutral energy system could look like.
To strengthen our team we are offering a
Support us in providing orientation knowledge for politics, industry, and society for the success of the energy transition by contributing to the further development of our energy system models.
Your main task will be the integration of CO2 process chains into our global energy system model based on the FINE model framework (https://github.com/FZJ-IEK3-VSA/FINE). A particular focus will be on the use in power-to-liquid products as well as possible CO2 sources in a greenhouse gas-neutral energy system.
Do you find this topic exciting and enjoy modeling and analyzing energy systems? Do you have innovative ideas that can contribute to the success of the energy transition? Then please apply! We welcome committed new colleagues who want to find solutions for the energy transition together with us and offer you the best conditions for your successful doctorate:
The position is initially for a fixed term of three years. Pay will be in line with 75% of pay group 13 of the Collective Agreement for the Public Service (TVöD-Bund) and additionally 60% of a monthly salary as special payment (“Christmas bonus”).
