YOUR TASKS
- You devote a minimum of 70% of your assignment to scientific research in the field of pharmacokinetics. You develop a line of research within the Laboratory of Medical Biochemistry and Clinical Analysis regarding physiology-based pharmacokinetic and/or pharmacometrics models.
- You provide assistance in the teaching of the department (in Dutch and English, at undergraduate and/or graduate level).
- You are responsible for successfully attracting scientific funding through projects.
- You supervise students at the master level in the context of exercises, internships and master's thesis.
- You supervise doctoral students.
- You participate in the internal and external services of the research group.
- You assist in the management of the operations of the Laboratory of Medical Biochemistry and Clinical Analysis.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- You hold a Doctor of Pharmaceutical Sciences degree or equivalent. For degrees obtained outside the European Union, an equivalency certificate from NARIC must be presented. Diploma requirements must be met by the date of your appointment.
- You have extensive experience in scientific research within the field of pharmacokinetics/pharmacometrics as substantiated by first-authored publications in high quality international peer-reviewed scientific journals, which have a wide distribution.
- You have hands-on experience in using physiologically based pharmacokinetics and pharmacometrics to predict the pharmacokinetics of large and small drugs.
- You have adequate knowledge of statistics and have extensive experience with R or another relevant programming language.
- You are familiar with quantitative bioanalysis of drugs using liquid chromatography coupled with tandem mass spectrometry.
- You have a notion of pharmacodynamic models and population pharmacokinetics. You are familiar with current topics in quantitative pharmacological research.
- You can present a track-record of communications and lectures at international scientific conferences in the context of drug research, in casu pharmacokinetic research.
- You have demonstrable teaching experience within an academic program. You have a strong interest in student tutoring in the academic and/or continuing academic programs and this in a multidisciplinary pharmaceutical context.
- You have sufficient knowledge of Dutch and English to carry out teaching tasks and communicate research results.
- You are able to work proactively and independently and can act as a supervisor where necessary.
- You have the required social skills, flexibility and critical mind to function in a multidisciplinary academic environment.
WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU
- We offer you a temporary appointment of 3 years. A second appointment of up to 3 years can follow, subject to a favourable evaluation of the first term
- Even if you have already been appointed earlier (whether or not at another university and whether or not in the same field of discipline) in a first term of up to three years, you can apply
- The second appointment does not have to be immediately connected to a first term
- Your appointment will start December 1st 2024, at the earliest
