Job description

The employment as post-doc will be focussed on the application of inorganic chemistry for the design, synthesis and characterization of novel light-absorbing and conductive materials for the next generation solar cells. The work will both be independent and in a research team. The research will be performed in an active multi-disciplinary scientific environment at KTH.

This recruitment is connected to the Wallenberg Initiative Materials Science for Sustainability (WISE). WISE, funded by the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation, is the largest-ever investment in materials science in Sweden and will encompass major efforts at Sweden’s foremost universities over the course of 10 years. All early-stage researchers recruited into the WISE program will be a part of the WISE Graduate School, an ambitious nationwide program of seminars, courses, research visits, and other activities to promote a strong multi-disciplinary and international network between PhD students, postdocs, researchers, and industry.

Qualifications

Requirements

A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree in inorganic chemistry, with a specialization in inorganic synthesis and solid state characterization. Previously proven experience of solution-based inorganic synthesis, as well as automation/robotization, will be of special merit.

Preferred qualifications

  • A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree, obtained within the last three years prior to the application deadline
  • Research expertise and teaching abilities
  • Good skills in scientific communication in English, since it is required in the daily work.
  • Collaborate skills and ability to work independently
  • Awareness of diversity and equal opportunity issues, with specific focus on gender equality

Great emphasis will be placed on personal skills.

About the employment

The position offered is for, at the most, two years.

A position as a postdoctoral fellow is a time-limited qualified appointment focusing mainly on research, intended as a first career step after a dissertation.
