The KU Leuven Flow and Mass Cytometry core facility (short KU Leuven FACS core) is a training and service facility belonging to the Biomedical Science Group at the KU Leuven. Our team provides flow and mass cytometry services as well as cell sorting support to a large and diverse user base. Many of our instruments are independently operated by our users for which they receive extensive training by our facility team. The facility is managed by the general operations and technical operations managers who are supported and advised by the director and the steering committee. The KU Leuven FACS core facility strives for technological advancement and for offering the best available technology and best service to its user base. We have been the first academic facility in Belgium to place a Mass Cytometer, the first to place a SONY ID7000 spectral analyser and are now the first to have placed an IsoPlexis instrument. As flow cytometry technician, you will be given the opportunity to be trained at all instrumentation available in the core facility. Together with the FACS Core managers and the core facility team members, you will contribute to user trainings and develop, improve and implement research techniques that contribute to the accurate completion of projects involving flow cytometry and related technologies. In your function, you will contribute substantially to research projects that depend on the FACS Core Facility.
