KU Leuven has a vacancy for a postdoctoral position in the area of Artificial Intelligence at its campuses Kortrijk and/or Bruges. We are looking for candidates with an ambition to engage in teaching activities, supplemented with relevant research, thus requiring both excellent didactic skills and a good research record. Expertise in the deployment of AI in Business and Industrial Environments is a plus.
The postdoc will spend a significant part of his/her time on educational tasks, supporting the academic staff involved in the new programmes on Artificial Intelligence in Business and Industry. From September 2022 onwards, a new Advanced Master programme will be organized (pending approval from the Flemish government). A Postgraduate Certificate programme with the same name is already offered in the current academic year.

The postdoc will also engage in research activities in the domain of artificial intelligence, in interaction with experts in data analysis and AI and academic users of AI technology at the campuses in Kortrijk and Bruges. A keen interest in valorization of research in industry and in society is a plus. He/she will operate within the KU Leuven Institute for Artificial Intelligence (Leuven.ai). This interdisciplinary institute combines the AI expertise of 85 professors and 250 junior researchers.
The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic researcher with a PhD degree in the area of Artificial Intelligence/Data Science. Applicants should have a strong track record in this research domain, evidenced by publications and/or by research experience in industry. International experience is an advantage. We are looking for a postdoc who possesses organizational skills and a cooperative attitude. A good command of English is required (C1 level or higher, with both oral and written communication skills), as the new programmes are taught entirely in English.
We offer a contract of 1 year (with possibilities for extension) for a postdoctoral position in an intellectually challenging environment. The position can be full-time or part-time, depending on the candidate’s preference.
Also the starting date is flexible. You will be affiliated with KU Leuven campuses in Kortrijk and/or Bruges.
