The Department of Physics of the University of Cologne, Germany, offers the following open position at the Institute for Nuclear Physics
The Institute for Nuclear Physics would like to strengthen its expertise in the field of Accelerator Mass Spectrometry at the Cologne Center for Accelerator Mass Spectrometry (CologneAMS). The tasks of the successful applicant are:
Collaboration with the geosciences (e.g. in the ongoing CRC 1211), nuclear physics and pre-and protohistory groups involved in CologneAMS is expected.
We are looking for applicants with an outstanding research track record in the field of experimental physics (accelerator mass spectrometry, accelerator physics, detector development) and with successful acquisition of third-party funding. The successful applicant is expected to contribute to the teaching duties of the institute of nuclear physics with its general and specialised courses. An active collaboration in the academic administration is expected.
The recruitment requirements according to Section 36 of the Higher Education Act of North Rhine-Westphalia (Hochschulgesetz – HG NRW) apply. As a rule, the teaching load comprises nine semester hours per week.
