The Institute of Fundamental and Frontier Sciences (IFFS) is an interdisciplinary department at the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC) in Chengdu, China. Positions and Supports

World-class Faculty Position 

• Winners of top international awards, Academicians from developed countries or the equivalents are desired and offer packages will be made on a case-by-case basis.
• We are looking for 1) winners of the Nobel Prize, the A.M. Turing Award, the Fields Medal, etc., 2) Fellows of the Academy of Science or Engineering or its equivalent in countries like the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, etc.

Senior Faculty Position 

Requirements: 

Candidates should be experts and scholars who are equivalent to professors or associate professors in internationally renowned universities and research institutes. They should have profound academic attainments, achieved well-recognized academic achievements by international peers in their research fields, and can lead an extensive research team.

Offer package:

• Salary of 900,000 RMB per year+120,000RMB of housing fund and social security per year + high-end publication award without limit
• A relocation subsidy of up to 3.5 million RMB+ rent-free apartment for one year
• Research fund on a case-by-case basis according to the actual needs of related research work
• Tenured professorship, specific graduate student quota, priority to postdoc recruitment and adequate space for office and experiment
• Priority to national and provincial projects application
• Spouse relocation, children education, family social insurance and high-end health care

Junior Faculty Position 

Requirements:

• Under the age of 40 in natural sciences and engineering
• Have publications in top journals of the related field
• Hold a formal teaching or research position for at least 36 consecutive months
• Have no position on a full-time basis in mainland China

Offer Package:

• A salary of RMB 600,000 per year+100,000RMB of housing fund and social security per year + high-end publication award without limit
• A relocation fund of 2.2 million RMB + rent-free apartment for one year
• A sum research fund of RMB 2-6 million
• Tenured professorship, specific graduate student quota,   priority to postdoc recruitment and adequate space for office and experiment

Postdoctoral Position 

Requirements:

• Under the age of 35 in natural sciences and engineering
• Have publications in top journals of the related field

Offer Package:

• A base salary of 220,000-300,000RMB per year
• 80,000-100,000 RMB per year will be topped up for those who win any provincial or municipal postdoc talent program
• No less than 400,000RMB per year for those who win the national postdoc talent program
• Rent-free accommodation or renting allowance
