Location:  Jubilee Campus 

Salary:  £28,762 to £43,414 per annum, pro rata depending on skills and experience (minimum £32348 with relevant PhD). Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance

The Open Societies Foundation has funded a European research project to scope out the response to the question ‘What happened to the children who arrived in Europe in 2015?’ This has led to the development of the Hub for European Refugee Education (HERE) (www.hubhere.org  which aims to collate, foster and disseminate research and knowledge and to bring together key stakeholders with academics and other experts in the field. We are seeking to appoint a research associate/ fellow to work as part of the team, shaping the ongoing work of the Hub.

The role involves taking day to day responsibility for the desk-based review of published research and research project activity on refugee education in different European contexts. This is collated in an online live database which can be accessed by academics and stakeholders seeking to establish what activity has already been undertaken or is currently in place, and for those looking to collaborate and develop future projects and knowledge sharing. The role holder will also play a central role in the development of a range of dissemination activities for academic and stakeholder audiences, and to webinars/ symposia and systematic social media activity bringing together voices from different agencies and bodies including representatives from the refugee communities, practitioners, municipal leaders and academics. The role holder will work with the principle investigator and the Steering Group. 

Applicants must hold a PhD (completed or near to completion) in a relevant subject area. They should also have qualitative/quantitative analytical skills.

The role is available of a fixed term contract from 1 February 2023 until 31 July 2023 (you must be in post by April 1st 2023 at the latest). Hours of work are 14.5 hours per week.
