Project Researcher position located at the Department of Physics and Astronomy on fixed-term employment contracts in the Beetles TY-project. The assignment begins on 1 February 2022 and ends on 30 June 2023 (or upon mutual agreement).
Job duties include the modeling and optimization of the structure and electrical properties of polycrystalline silicon semiconductor, materials simulations at the macro and micro scale, development of theoretical and computational methods for polycrystalline silicon, analysis, reporting and presentation of research results.
Candidates are required to have MSc in physics or a related field and previous experience in computational simulation and modelling of polycrystalline silicon. Applicants are expected to have programming experience, English language skills, ability to work independently as well as good teamwork skills.
When assessing the applicant's merits, previous work experience related to the position, studies related to the position and scientific publications are taken into account. The selection is based on the application and / or interview.
Salary and Trial Period
The salary will be determined in accordance with the Finnish university salary system for teaching and research personnel. The salary for project researcher is at levels 2–4 on the job chart, where the work-specific salary component is between 2078,27 – 2591,28 euros per month. In addition, a personal work performance component will be paid. The component based on personal performance adds a minimum of 6 % and a maximum of 50 % to the base salary. The starting salary for this position is 2286 – 2473 €/month. The assignment has a six-month probationary period.
