The position is within the research group Healthcare Sciences and e-Health, hosting U-CARE, an interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research program (http://www.u-care.uu.se), at the Department of Women’s and Children’s Health. U-CARE specializes in the development, piloting, and evaluation of e-Mental Health interventions for people with somatic disease, and their significant others. U-CARE has several international collaborations and our broad competence within research methodology was acknowledged in the latest evaluation of research conducted at Uppsala University. We have developed an internet-based research and treatment platform, the U-CARE platform (the Platform), to deliver internet-administered interventions (e.g. psychological support and treatment) and to support research procedures such as informed consent, randomization, and data collection. Several feasibility studies, pilot studies, and controlled studies involving principal investigators within U-CARE and the Healthcare Sciences and e-Health research group, as well as other research groups, are being conducted on the Platform.
Work duties
We are now looking for an experienced and committed researcher to work on an exciting and innovative research program (INVOLVERA) in the field of health and ageing, has received financial support from the Swedish Research Council and the Kamprad Family Foundation. The person we are looking for will primarily work on INVOLVERA where we will test and evaluate a self-help program based on behavioural activation for people with dementia and depression which was originally developed in the United Kingdom and has been adapted for the Swedish context. The self-help program has been adapted in close collaboration with people with dementia, their relatives, healthcare professionals, and non-profit organisations.
