The position will be based in the Institute of Psychology within the Faculty of Human and Social Sciences.
The position is to be taken up by 2022-10-01.
The prospective candidate is responsible for the areas of Work and Environmental psychology in both research and teaching. The applicant is expected to have an independent and original research profile in at least one of the areas of Work or Environmental psychology, preferably with a focus on technology-oriented environments and their design. The successful applicant’s research profile should relate to the research activities of the Institute of Psychology, and to the university’s profile as well as the Faculty of Human and Social Sciences.
The appointed person is expected to contribute to the Institute of Psychology’s teaching program at both Bachelor’s and Master’s levels. This includes the basics of Industrial and Organizational psychology at the Bachelor’s level. The future jobholder is expected to have experiences in the successful acquisition of research grants, internationally visible research activities in reputable journals as well as relevant teaching experience and evidence of didactic competence (e. g., through teaching evaluations). Open Science practices in the sense of openly available, transparent, and replicable research are desirable (in concordance with the recommendations of the German Psychological Society (DGPs)).
Besides pedagogical suitability, which has to be proven by appropriate previous experience or, in exceptional cases, demonstrated by excellent performance during the appointment procedure, the applicant is expected to have a particular aptitude for scientific work substantiated by the outstanding quality of a doctorate. Further scientific achievements must be demonstrated additionally and will be evaluated exclusively and comprehensively during the appointment procedure. The requirements for appointment to a first professorship include junior professorships, habilitations, employment as a research assistant at a university or at a non-university research institution and scientific positions in business, in administration or another social field in Germany or abroad.
The successful candidate is expected to actively support academic autonomy at the university. The University considers gender equality as an important task, and the successful candidate will contribute to its implementation.
