emlyon business school is currently seeking candidates for their PhD program. Applicants must hold a bachelor or master’s degree and show strong intellectual ability and commitment to and interest in academic work.

PhD students are based at the Lyon campus.

About the Program: emlyon business school’s PhD in Management is a 5-year fully funded program. The program aims to train students to become independent researchers who produce world-class research. Students in the PhD program work closely with emlyon’s internationally renowed faculty who conduct cutting-edge research and publish in the top academic journals in the fields of organization theory, strategy, entrepreneurship, and marketing. In the first two years students acquire the theoretical knowledge and methodological skills needed to become successful researchers through a variety of courses delivered by our research-driven international faculty. The final three years are devoted to designing and conducting a larger-scale, ambitious empirical project with the intention of contributing to a theoretical conversation and publishing this work in top academic outlets. Each year we admit only a select few doctoral students so that the program remains small, intimate and fully funded. The program is delivered entirely in English.

Financial support: 

All PhD students benefit from financial support corresponding a gross salary of 27,000 euros per year (of which 50% is paid as salary, 50% as scholarship). In addition, they benefit from other social advantages. Tuition fees are waived.
