Professor of Health Economics

The Department of Management, Technology, and Economics (D-MTEC, www.mtec.ethz.ch) at ETH Zurich and the Department of Economics (IdEP, https://idep.usi.ch/) at Università della Svizzera italiana (USI) invite applications for a full or associate professor with specialisation in Economic Evaluation of Health Programmes and Technologies.

The position is a joint professorship at ETH Zurich and USI, with an equal commitment to both institutions, which foster a strategic alliance that exists since 2010. The new professorship is expected to develop a strong international research programme in the economic evaluation of health care programmes. The successful candidate will conduct both methodological and applied research in health economics, including but not limited to economic evaluation in health care. Special attention will be given to rehabilitation programmes and technologies.

Successful candidates hold a PhD degree in economics with an outstanding research portfolio in the above-mentioned research topics. Academic achievements should be complemented by a demonstrated ability to lead a research group and generate external funding. A strong commitment to innovative teaching activities for a diverse student body at the undergraduate and graduate level as well as in continuing/executive education programmes in the areas of economics and health policy is required.
