The BfR independently prepares expert opinions and statements on issues of food, feed and chemical safety and consumer health protection in Germany on the basis of internationally recognised scientific evaluation criteria. It advises the Federal Government and other institutions and interest groups in these areas. The BfR thus makes an important contribution to the protection of human health.

The activity takes place in the unit Epidemiology, Zoonoses and Antibiotic Resistance. You can find more information about the unit here on our website and about the project here.

The possibility of continued employment on a fixed-term basis until the end of the project term on December 31, 2033, is offered, subject to satisfactory performance and the availability of funding.

Tasks:

The area of responsibility includes handling tasks from the work package ‘Communication, Exploitation, Education and Dissemination (CEED)’. Specifically, the activities include:

  • Coordination of the various tasks within the work package, including the preparation of minutes
  • Maintaining content and providing support for the use of CEED tools within the partnership
  • Monitoring of CEED activities and the results of the consortium’s research activities with regard to key performance indicators 
  • Support in identifying, communicating and distribution the results of the EUP AH&W 
  • Planning and implementation of events with stakeholders from various fields and the general public; handling administrative aspects
  • Representing the interests of the partnership in meetings of other consortia or activities, if necessary 
  • Administrative and technical support for the Output Inventory, a database containing the results from the consortium
  • Assisting with administrative project tasks, including handling budget-related matters in collaboration with the relevant departments at the BfR
  • Collaboration in the preparation of project reports and participation in project meetings, including taking minutes
  • Preparation of scientific publications and presentations
  • Business travel related to the job (approximately one to three trips per year)

Your profile

  • Completed University degree (Master's degree, diploma or comparable university degree) in veterinary medicine, food science, epidemiology or a comparable field
  • PhD / doctorate 
  • Several years of previous experience with coordination tasks in international research projects, particularly in the areas of communication, dissemination and exploitation of results
  • Previous experience in the field of knowledge management
  • High interest in current challenges in agricultural livestock farming
  • High willingness to cooperate in an international environment
  • High level of communication skills and organisational competence
  • Very good knowledge of English and good knowledge of German, both spoken and written
  • A conscientious approach to work, flexibility, ability to work in a team and resilience

For foreign educational qualifications, proof of equivalence to a German degree is required 
(see: anabin.kmk.org). This proof must be provided in German or English.

Desired 

  • Prior knowledge in the areas of animal health, animal welfare and One Health is an advantage
  • Previous experience in organising events
  • Previous experience with administrative procedures in EU co-funded projects
