YOUR TASKS

  • Performing ecotoxicological research on micropollutants, including associated chemical analyses, as well as reporting, publishing and presenting results
  • Performing ongoing research projects, including alternatives for PFAS, medicines, plant growth stimulants (EU, Belgian government, FWO, etc.), including supervising master students in this context and including participation in project meetings and reporting
  • Where necessary, supporting education, internal and external services of the research group

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • You have a Master's degree in Ecotoxicology or a related field (e.g. Environmental Sciences or Environmental Technology) in which ecotoxicology is discussed extensively (course package, internship and/or master's thesis).
  • You have at least 2 years of experience with research in aquatic ecotoxicology and ecological risk assessment (demonstrable by publications in scientific journals and presentations at conferences).
  • You are able to carry out multiple research projects simultaneously (good at multitasking and planning).
  • You have experience in supervising research by master's students in the context of their master's thesis
  • You are prepared to carry out project-based research in a part-time position, without this leading to a doctorate
  • You are prepared to support the master's education and internal and external services of the research group, where necessary
  • You can express yourself scientifically fluently in English (both orally and in writing).

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU

  • We offer you a part-time (50%) contract of definite duration for a period of 1 year.
  • Your contract will start on 1/09/2025 at the earliest.
  • Your remuneration will be determined by salary scale WM1 to WM4 (if you hold a Master’s degree) or salary scale PD1 to PD4 (if you hold a doctorate).  Click here for more information about our salary scales.
