As a metrology generalist and expert with industry experience building bridges between people and projects.
What you will do
- As a Principal Member of Staff you have obtained a broad, in-depth and hands-on knowledge of in-process metrology & inspection in a semiconductor industry environment. Technologies of main interest are ellipsometry, OCD, optical and e-beam inspection & metrology,
- Using your expertise, you will support the team members with scientific, technical and hands-on challenges and concomitantly coach and develop the team toward a higher maturity level.
- Using your industry background, you support the team with setting up efficient POR’s & standardizing the way of working.
- You stay abreast of new developments and technologies in the field of metrology and inspection, and you are responsible for distributing the knowledge to the relevant stakeholders and for translating the needs of the FAB into roadmaps.
- You build bridges to other groups and departments, and you are the scientific spokesperson for the group and department in various fora.
- Together with the team, you lead, implement and systematically follow-up on longer term projects, such as customer projects, funded projects, and internal improvement projects.
- Occasionally publish your results in high-impact journals, conferences and technical seminars
- Scan the team activities for possible patent applications and take the lead in the patent filing process

Who you are
- You have a PhD in Applied Sciences, Chemistry, Physics, Material Engineering or equivalent through experience, with at least 10-year work experience in the semiconductor industry as an in-process metrology/inspection expert.
- You have a strong technical, hands-on & scientific background in inspection, metrology and characterization.
- You have a good understanding of the key metrology challenges in advanced semiconductor technology ideally combined with solid knowledge of device integration and the different process steps to build these devices
- You have experience working with internal and external customers including leading edge semiconductor equipment and manufacturers.
- You are a team player and flexible in accommodating changing priorities to support business needs.
- You have self-drive and are willing to take ownership.
- You feel at home and know how to integrate into a multicultural environment
- You have outstanding English communication skills to work successfully in an international dynamic team environment.
