The Department of Medical Epidemiology and Biostatistics conducts research in epidemiology and biostatistics across a broad range of areas within biomedical science. The department is among the largest of its type in Europe and has especially strong research profiles in psychiatric, cancer, reproductive, pediatric, pharmaco, genetic, and geriatric epidemiology, eating disorders, precision medicine, and biostatistics.
Part of the success of our department is due to our collaborative spirit where one factor is that researchers at the Department share and co-finance common resources (e.g., IT and an applied biostatistics group). You will be a part of Mark Taylor’s research group (http://ki.se/en/research/research-areas-centres-and-networks/research-groups/health-outcomes-in-autistic-people-mark-taylors-research-group#tab-start), which focuses on improving health outcomes in autistic people. Our work spans register-based epidemiology, genetics, and survey-based approaches. The research assistant will have the opportunity to contribute to our ongoing work concerning somatic and psychiatric health outcomes in autistic people, gaining experience working with large-scale registers.
You will play a supportive role in our ongoing research aiming to explore determinants of health outcomes in autistic people. In particular, you will play a supportive role in a study aiming to examine patterns of polypharmacy in autistic people. You will also be involved in advancing our plans to collect new data, helping with applications for ethical approval and ordering data.
The position is a fixed‑term employment for one year.
