Third-cycle subject: Biological Physics
We are looking for a doctoral student to a multidisciplinary and collaborative project at the division of Biophysics, Department of Applied Physics, KTH. The goal of the project is to use microscale acoustofluidic technology for the formation, development and analysis of 3D cell cultures on chip. The purpose is to develop in vitro models of solid tumors that can be used to study the tumor microenvironment, and also to investigate whether acoustofluidic methods can be used to alter and characterize the 3D cell cultures including their microenvironment. For evaluation you will use a combination of computational and experimental techniques, including e.g. numerical modelling, electrical impedance spectroscopy, optical microscopy and image analysis.
The candidate will be immersed in the thriving environment at SciLifeLab, Solna, a collaborative hub for experimental and computational biophysics research. The shared resources, including cutting-edge cell biology laboratories, advanced microscopy facilities, and a robust computational infrastructure, form an exceptional ecosystem that not only supports cutting-edge life-science research but also facilitates intellectual exchange driven by national and international collaborations.
