Here’s more about the role and what we’re looking for:

The School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences at Loughborough University is seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer or Lecturer in Para and Disability Sport. You will contribute to research, innovation, and teaching within this internationally recognised area, supporting the University’s strong reputation for excellence in sport-related research and practice.

At Senior Lecturer level, you will lead and deliver educational and student experience activities across relevant undergraduate and postgraduate programmes integrating your knowledge and expertise in Para and Disability Sport. You will hold a PhD (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline and be internationally recognised for your academic excellence, with a substantial body of high-quality publications and a strong track record of supervising research students.

At Lecturer level, you will support teaching and student experience activities across our programmes, contributing to the development of high-quality education integrating your knowledge and expertise in Para and Disability Sport. You will hold a PhD (or equivalent) in a relevant field and demonstrate a growing profile of academic publication, alongside experience in research, teaching, and/or applied practice.

At both levels, you will demonstrate a clear and ambitious research and innovation plan aligned with the University’s Research and Innovation core strategy. This plan should articulate your area of expertise and outline how you will advance knowledge and practice within para and disability sport, including opportunities for translation and impact.

We are particularly seeking to recruit an individual whose expertise aligns with Para and Disability sport, and who is motivated to contribute to Loughborough University’s internationally recognised agenda in this area. We welcome applications from candidates across physiology, biomechanics, and social or behavioural sciences, and will appoint the candidate whose profile best complements and strengthens the interdisciplinary work of the Centre for Para and Disability Sport Innovation.

We take positive action and strongly encourage applications from all backgrounds. For this post, we particularly encourage applications from women, disabled individuals, and/or ethnic minorities within the UK. We invite interested candidates to engage with the point of contact provided below at an early stage.
