Assistant in a research project 

Focus: research and technical

Duties:

  • qualitative coding of data sets (scientific articles, documents related to scientific policies )
  • preparing reports, summaries and participating in project members' meetings to analyze collected data
  • conducting research interviews
  • conducting and analyzing surveys
  • elements of bibliometric analysis
  • participating in writing scientific papers
  • other organizational and research work related to the project

Requirements:

  • status of a doctoral student (doctoral studies or doctoral school) - in the humanities, social sciences or thematically related to the project, or possession of a doctoral degree
  • advanced knowledge of the Polish language at a minimum level of C1
  • advanced knowledge of English at a minimum B2+ level
  • knowledge of Max QDA program or willingness to learn the program
  • ability to read scientific or public policy texts
  • well-developed communication skills
  • meticulous and systematic
  • research interests in the areas of discourse analysis, sociology of social groups, bibliometrics, philosophy/sociology of science, higher education research will be a great asset

Nice to have:

  • familiarity with qualitative analysis software (e.g., Max Qda, AtlasT, Nvivo) and/or grounded theory methodologies
  • experience in conducting research interviews and implementing surveys 
  • knowledge of bibliometrics

  • cooperation based on an employment contract at the rate of 0.5 full-time, i.e. 20 hours per week for a period of 1 year with the possibility of extension to 3 years

Required documents:

  • CV with a list of scientific achievements (with direct reference to the eligibility criteria given above), as well as including a description of other professional experience and interests
  • a scan of a statement confirming the status of a doctoral student or a scan of a diploma confirming receipt of a doctoral degree
  • motivation letter (max. 1 page) with reference to the requirements indicated in the announcement, including information on how participation in the project will fit in the candidate's current activities and interests and how it will contribute to further career development
  • a statement confirming knowledge of a foreign language at the required level

  • employment dates from: July 1, 2025

Formal criteria:

  • scientific achievements, including publications in reputable scientific publications/journals and active participation in national and international scientific conferences: 20% of the final grade 
  • competence to carry out specific tasks in a research project: 70% of the final grade
  • distinctions resulting from scientific research, scholarships, awards, and scientific experience gained outside the home scientific unit at home or abroad, scientific workshops and trainings, participation in research projects: 10% of the final grade
