Teaching Assistant

Faculty of Psychology in Wrocław
Department of Social Psychology
Teaching hours: 240 hours

Duties:
- carrying out teaching duties in psychology degree programmes (mainly Psychology in English)
- preparing and executing course documentation: syllabuses, evaluations, archiving of student assignments
- preparing teaching materials and scenarios of classes
- cooperating with the program coordinator
- development of teaching competences by participating in internal trainings organised by both the department and the university, e.g. during Teaching Competence Week
- popularizing among students the results of research and scientific projects, especially those conducted within SWPS University
- taking care of constant contact with science by participating in scientific meetings and events devoted to issues related to the teaching activities and following scientific publications in this field
- participating in Faculty meetings
- readiness to perform assigned functions and organisational tasks in the Faculty
- organising and participating in activities carried out by the University, the Faculty and the Institute
- participating in activities promoting the University, Faculty and Institute
- representing the University, Faculty and Institute in environmental bodies
Requirements:
- master's degree in psychology (completed a single master's degree or a combined first and second degree in psychology)
- a minimum of 3 years of experience in teaching students (scope: psychology of emotions and motivation, cognitive psychology, ethics of the psychology profession) and preparing teaching materials
- didactic competence confirmed by certificates or certificates of completion of courses or other forms of training that improve qualifications in teaching, training and workshops
- readiness to work also on weekends
- active participation in national and foreign scientific conferences
- participation in the implementation of domestic or foreign grants (as a contractor)
- advanced work on the preparation of a doctorate in psychology
- fluency in English and Polish
Nice to have:
- experience in teaching in English
- professional experience gained outside the university, e.g. in business, clinical activities
- social experience (NGOs, volunteering, etc.)
- active participation in national and international scientific conferences
- organization of scientific or social initiatives at the university, e.g. scientific seminars/conferences, meetings with scientific circles

Required documents:
- academic CV with a list of scientific, teaching and organisational achievements with direct reference to the eligibility criteria stated above
- copy of the documents attesting to the obtaining of a Master's Degree in Psychology
- a statement confirming knowledge of a foreign language at the required level
Formal criteria:
- scientific achievements - 20% of the final assessment
- teaching achievements – 50% of the final assessment
- organisational and practical achievements – 30% of the final assessment
