At the Institute of Mechanics and Mechatronics, in the Research Group for Regelungsmethoden-Energiesysteme TU Wien is offering a position as university assistant (prae-doc) limited to expected 4 years for 30 hours/week. Expected start: July 2024.

Tasks:

  • Collaboration on research and teaching tasks as well as examinations
  • Cooperation with and guidance of students
  • Research and project activity
  • Writing a dissertation and publications
  • Participation in scientific events
  • Assistance/Collaboration in organizational and administrative tasks

Your profile:

  • Completion of a master or diploma curriculum in one of these fields: Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical and Process Engineering, or similiar
  • Skillful and responsible in the scientific method
  • Experience in the following scientific fields are not required but desirable: Control theory (particularly optimal control, nonlinear control, state estimation), optimization, treatment of distributed systems, as well as experiences in industrial / process engineering applications.
  • Very good skills in German and English (communication and writing)
  • Interest in research in the field as well as in supervising and working with students
  • Very good communicative skills, team competencies and innovative abilities

Entry level salary is determined by the pay grade B1 of the Austrian collective agreement for university staff. This is a minimum of currently EUR 2,684.10/month gross, 14 times/year for 30 hours/week. Relevant working experiences may increase the monthly income.
