The project

The project is located within WP3 of the PharmECO project (https://pharmeco.eu/) to develop a sustainable technology platform. The utilization of biocatalysts/enzymes as powerful catalysts for a sustainable and atom-efficient production of relevant targets has become an attractive alternative to traditional chemistry. Highly relevant reactions for industry to access pharmaceutical compounds are in the scope of the two PhD positions. The aim is to develop biocatalytic synthetic methods relevant for industry.

Research Field Chemistry

Education Level Master Degree or equivalent

Skills/Qualifications

We expect

that you have completed a master degree at a recognized University in Biochemistry/Biotechnology/Chemistry or related fields. 

Research experience in the following areas is needed:

  • Biocatalysis
  • Biochemistry
  • Organic chemistry
  • Molecular biology
  • Instrumental analytics (HPLC, GC, NMR, MS etc.)

Advantageous but not strictly required is know-how in

  • Structural biology
  • Enzymology
  • Bioinformatics

You should enjoy the work in an international interdisciplinary environment.

  • The monthly gross salary is EUR 2786,- (14 times a year)
    This corresponds to a monthly net amount of EUR ~2000 (paid 14 times a year).
  • Start: earliest 1st of August 2025, latest 1st of November 2025
