Your Responsibilities
- Meeting the objectives in teaching, research and administration in accordance with the development agreement to be concluded
- Research-based teaching in the field of language, culture, translation and interpreting Turkish (8 semester hours per week)
- Participation in related administrative tasks as well as the preparation and administration of examinations
- Conceptualization and participation in projects related to language, culture, and translation didactics
- Coordination of the functional area “Personnel Management and Adjunct Lecturers”: Conception, and organization of teaching assignments, management of the call for applications including the selection process, in close coordination with the chair of the curriculum committee; advising and supporting Adjunct Lecturers; onboarding new colleagues; organizing professional development measures
- Member of the Team of Coordinators of the Department; close consultation and collaboration with the coordinators of the other three functional areas (“International and Public Relations”; “Digitalization and Translation Technologies”; “Language and Translation Didactics”) as well as in close consultation with the head of department and the chair of the curriculum committee
- Contribution to research activities at the department
- Participation in organizational and administrative tasks, as well as in evaluation measures
Your Profile
- Completed doctoral degree or PhD in the field of Translation Studies
- Excellent language and culture competence in German and Turkish (native level)
- At least 5 years of experience in teaching at university level as well as in translation practice
- Outstanding didactic skills and willingness to explore innovative language-specific and language independent teaching formats
- Willingness to pursue further training and integrate digital (translation) technologies into language and translation teaching
- Experience in using relevant media in teaching
- Relevant research activities and publications (desirable)
- Excellent organizational skills and experience in teaching coordination
- Strong teamwork and motivation skills
- Social skills and enjoyment of working with students
- Willingness to participate in further training measures of the university
