Your Responsibilities

  • Meeting the objectives in teaching, research and administration in accordance with the development agreement to be concluded
  • Research-based teaching in the field of language, culture, translation and interpreting Turkish (8 semester hours per week)
  • Participation in related administrative tasks as well as the preparation and administration of examinations
  • Conceptualization and participation in projects related to language, culture, and translation didactics
  • Coordination of the functional area “Personnel Management and Adjunct Lecturers”: Conception, and organization of teaching assignments, management of the call for applications including the selection process, in close coordination with the chair of the curriculum committee; advising and supporting Adjunct Lecturers; onboarding new colleagues; organizing professional development measures
  • Member of the Team of Coordinators of the Department; close consultation and collaboration with the coordinators of the other three functional areas (“International and Public Relations”; “Digitalization and Translation Technologies”; “Language and Translation Didactics”) as well as in close consultation with the head of department and the chair of the curriculum committee
  • Contribution to research activities at the department
  • Participation in organizational and administrative tasks, as well as in evaluation measures

Your Profile

  • Completed doctoral degree or PhD in the field of Translation Studies
  • Excellent language and culture competence in German and Turkish (native level)
  • At least 5 years of experience in teaching at university level as well as in translation practice
  • Outstanding didactic skills and willingness to explore innovative language-specific and language independent teaching formats
  • Willingness to pursue further training and integrate digital (translation) technologies into language and translation teaching
  • Experience in using relevant media in teaching
  • Relevant research activities and publications (desirable)
  • Excellent organizational skills and experience in teaching coordination
  • Strong teamwork and motivation skills
  • Social skills and enjoyment of working with students
  • Willingness to participate in further training measures of the university

We offer an annual gross salary of at least € 70.200,20 for a fulltime position. An overpayment based on qualification and experience is possible.
