About the FHSE

The University of Luxembourg is an international research university with a distinctly multilingual and interdisciplinary character.

The Faculty of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences (FHSE) at the University of Luxembourg brings together expertise from the humanities, linguistics, cognitive sciences, social and educational sciences.
People from across 20 disciplines are working within the
Faculty. Along with the disciplinary approach a very ambitious interdisciplinary research culture has been developed. The faculty's research and teaching focuses on social, economic, political and educational issues with the common goal of contributing to an inclusive, open and resourceful society.

Your role

The successful candidate will be a member of the Department of Behavioural and Cognitve Sciences and more specifically the Institute of Health and Behaviour. The person will work under the supervision of Dr. Andreia Costa, Principal Investigator of the project "Bridging Gaps: The impact of coding on neurodiverse learners" (BriGa), funded by the André Losch Fondation.

The BriGa project aims, in collaboration with the Luxembourg Tech School (LTS), to further develop their existing coding curriculum for neurodiverse learners and assess the potential impact of coding.


Key responsibilities:

  • Conducting review of the literature
  • Developing the coding curriculum
  • Participating in the preparation, implementation, and evaluation of the empirical studies
  • Contacting and informing institutions and participants
  • Disseminating results through participation in conferences and scientific publications
  • Organizing meetings and workshops to promote awareness and advocacy

Your profile

  • Master's degree (or soon-to-obtain) in Psychology, Cognitive Science, or Education
  • A track record of interest in technology (knowing Scratch coding language or another coding language is considered an asset)
  • Experience working with people with a developmental disorder or experience in the education sector
  • Experience in research and very good knowledge in quantitative and qualitative research methods
  • Good knowledge of statistical software (e.g. SPSS or STATA or R or JASP)
  • Strong commitment and the ability to work in a team
  • Fluency in English, along with a good command of either German or French is required. Knowledge of Luxembourgish is considered an asset
