The Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas (Angelicum) is located in the historic center of Rome. It is run by the Dominican Order and traces its origins to the first stadium founded by St. Dominic in 1222. As a pontifical institution, it grants degrees on behalf of the Holy See and is accredited by the Dicastery of Culture and Education of the Vatican. Its teaching is divided into four faculties: Theology, Philosophy, Canon Law and Social Sciences. The University is bilingual, offering programs of study in both English and Italian. It counts approximately 1,100 students from over 100 countries.
