System & Integration Engineer

System Engineer for the design, development & integration of our setups & prototypes, with a focus on hardware-software interfaces.

What you will do

• Design, develop & integrate setups or prototypes, combining hardware, mechanics, electronics & software.
• Collaborate with top researchers & engineers from all fields, to achieve the required system innovations.
• Collect & manage the user & system requirements, assess & manage the technical risks.
• Explore the architectural options & capture trade-offs, conflicts & opportunities.
• Integrate with other engineering domains, such as optics, sensors, ASICs & more.
• Plan activities, manage orders & timelines.

Who you are

• You hold a MSc in Engineering or equivalent, with several years of proven professional experience.
• You have practical experience in prototyping, product development or system engineering.
• You are comfortable with a range of engineering domains, such as hardware, electronics, embedded systems.
• You can take ownership of systems for various applications, both hands-on and as architect.
• You have an interest in innovation; experience in a R&D setting is a plus.
• You are a team player, with excellent communication skills and fluent in English.
• Ability to work onsite at the imec Leuven campus is required.
