Job Description

The successful candidate will strengthen the Center’s focus on business management and control, with particular emphasis on applied accounting, regulation and standard setting. Special attention should be given to the analysis of the economic effects and the further development of international standards for financial and sustainability reporting, as well as to linking corporate reporting with strategic business decision-making processes. Application-oriented research and teaching must be initiated, and cooperation partnerships with international institutions and industry partners are preferred. The successful candidate will be expected to deliver appropriate teaching courses for students of the Faculty of Business, Economics and Social Sciences, and to supervise bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral theses.

Employment Requirements

  • Austrian or equivalent foreign higher education degree corresponding with the position (doctorate/PhD)
  • Outstanding academic qualifications in research and teaching in the relevant discipline as well as several years of subject-relevant non-university practical experience (commensurate with stage of academic career and interruptions in employment due to caring responsibilities)
  • Gender mainstreaming and diversity management skills
  • Profound expertise in international accounting, particularly IFRS, and other forms of corporate reporting
  • Extensive experience in national and/or international standard setting in the field of corporate reporting
  • Internationally visible publication record in leading academic journals in the fields of applied accounting, regulation and standard-setting, or related areas
  • Proven research excellence and strong academic reputation in an international environment
  • Extensive experience in attracting and managing competitive contractual research projects at the national and/or international level
  • Demonstrated excellence in higher education didactics, including substantial teaching experience in German- and English-language programmes, as well as supervision of bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral theses
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, combined with an internationally established academic network
  • Experience in collaborating with international research institutions and academic professional societies
  • Very good knowledge of German and English

The successful candidate will be highly motivated, aiming for academic excellence and integrity in research and teaching. He/she will have demonstrated ability to collaborate constructively in a responsible manner and inspire colleagues and students in an interdisciplinary, internationally oriented context.

The minimum remuneration as stated in the Collective Bargaining Agreement is € 31,720.34 gross per year. Salary subject to negotiation.
